2017 'MAISIE EVELYN' GEWÜRZTRAMINER
This wine celebrates the late Maisie Evelyn Wilson, Matriarch of the Wilson family at Ernest Hill Wines. This wine was made from grapes grown on forty year old vines on the Maisie Evelyn Block at the Ernest Hill vineyard in Pokolbin, New South Wales. It is an intensely flavoured yet elegant style of wine displaying an excellent floral nose, lifted fruit characteristics of lychees and white peach with an understated sweetness and a crisp acid structure.
To enjoy the superb flavours drink whilst young and fresh or cellar to 5 years for a more complex wine.
It is an excellent accompaniment to with any spicy Asian food, particularly Singaporean chilli mud crab, king prawn pad kapow or cajun peppered Eden blue eyed cod.
